When using the student assignment sheet for each unit, teachers may want to place their own point system in the far left column for each assignment. The points provide the students with a goal to work toward.
It is helpful to develop a file for each student. Include his/her name and number and collect evaluation sheets (student handouts). If numbers are assigned to students, you can simply place the number on the folder rather than a name. The folders can then be re-used many times in future classes. These worksheets (student handouts) provide a solid basis for grades and evaluations at parent/teacher conferences. Some teachers have students place the date of completion on each activity in the upper right hand corner, then instruct students to organize their files from the least current date to the most current date for each unit of instruction.
If students are not productive in completing individualized activities when working in groups of 2-4, they loose the privilege of working with others and must complete the activities alone.
