I2 Node Maintenance: 2016-07-01 @ 12:00 AM Description: I2 will be replacing/consolidating their SLC node.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: This will only impact research SDN traffic
San Juan UPS Maintenance: 2016-07-01 @ 2:30 PM Description: A UPS vendor is performing scheduled maintenance at the San Juan POP.
Update: This outage was resolved on time. Impact: This will affect the entire San Juan school district and various dependent locations/services. This should last 1-2 hours.
UINTAH BASIN AREA OUTAGE: 2016-07-05 @ 1:20 AM Description: The Uintah Basin is experiencing a wide-spread outage. The most apparent cause is an issue within the Strata Network infrastructure. This has made all of our major connections in the area unstable. The Answering Service for Strata indicated that they have been unable to contact the oncall technicians for the telecom.
There is no current ETR. Updates will be sent as we get them.
Update: Strata Telecom has indicated that they have fixed the issue on their end, but their device located in the UBATC is in an error/disable state, and they are unable to restore services until they can get physical access to that device. Attempts are being made to contact UBATC personnel to provide access to Strata as early as possible.
Depending on how things work out, it is Possible that we will not have service restored until close to 8:00a, unless we can reach someone with access to the site prior to then.
Update: This outage was resolved on time. Impact: ALL Sites in the Uintah Basin are currently offline. Due to excessive Flapping of routes and general instability, We have disabled the link from Heber City to Roosevelt until they are able to restore service. The link along nine-mile canyon is still up, but is not currently passing traffic due to the failure.
UEN Web Services Maintenance: 2016-07-07 @ 9:00 PM Description: We will be applying recommended and security patches to some of our web services hosts. This will cause a brief outage for several applications.

Update: This maintenance completed at 10:20 PM. Impact: The following web services will be affected:
Cactus, Core Display, Contact, Core Links, Csearch, CTE Core, Educator Search, IMA, Institutions, Breakwriter, Lessonplan, Online Library, Rubric and Sites. There may be sever other minor services affected as well.
Each individual service should only be down for a few minutes. However, the entire outage window will last two hours.
San Juan Maintenance: 2016-07-07 @ 11:00 PM Description: The PE device at San Juan requires a reload to upgrade the code.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: This will impact San Juan district, Higher Ed, County and LIbraries in the area. Downtime should be brief as the device will take less than 5 minutes to reboot.
Unstable internet connectivity impacting Price to Moab and regions beyond.: 2016-07-09 @ 6:00 AM Description: USU Eastern will be performing UPS upgrades during this window.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Intermittent stability issues will impact Price through Moab and possibly regions beyond. Connectivity should remain up and we only expect degraded service during this window.
Nexus NTP: 2016-07-12 @ 9:00 PM Description: Pointing EBC & DDC 5k's to ntp.uen.net

Century Link Upgrades: 2016-07-12 @ 11:00 PM Description: Century Link will be performing software upgrades on it's geomax network hardware.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Cities affected will be American Fork, Holladay, Lehi, Midvale, Murray, and Salt Lake. 11-5 window is scheduled, but maintenance should only take a few hours.
Century Link Upgrades: 2016-07-13 @ 11:00 PM Description: Century Link will be performing software upgrades on it's geomax network hardware.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Cities affected are Cedar City, Hurricane, Monroe, Parowon, St. George, and Washington. 11-5 window is scheduled, but upgrades should take only a few hours.
Authentication / Mobile ID Upgrade: 2016-07-17 @ 10:00 AM Description: A software upgrade will be performed to bring dualshield / mobileID to the latest version. This upgrade will enable the option of push authentication for VPN and device authentication, among other enhancements.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: VPN access to vpn.uen.net and authentication to UEN managed network hardware will be sporadic while the system is upgraded.
ASR Upgrades: 2016-07-21 @ 11:00 PM Description: I will be upgrading two ASR's onto new code.

DDC PEP A Outage: 2016-07-26 @ 4:35 PM Description: DDC PEP A experienced an outage at 4:33 PM today. All interfaces recovered -- we are currently investigating the cause of the outage.
Update: This outage was resolved on time. Impact: - All sites routed through DDC-PEP-A
- BPG neighborship between DDC and EBC
- Outage lasted roughly 15 minutes
Replacing uvu-pe-c-135 device: 2016-07-28 @ 11:00 PM Description: We will be replacing the uvu-pe-c-135 with a new device.
