  • The Niagara River, Canada and the USA

    The attraction-packed Niagara River is filled with adventure and beauty, as well as stories of Indigenous traders, shipwrecks and daredevil stunts. Navigate the fascinating history and engineering of this border river between Canada and the United States, before arriving at the world-famous Niagara Falls. A remarkable three-quarters of North America's surface water thunders over the stunning 180-foot drop carved out by the last ice age with colossal rock formations, a hypnotic natural whirlpool, and some of the fastest moving rapids in the world. Along the way drifts past some of North America's most picturesque small towns and farmland and sample the area's local ice wine.

    The mighty Hudson weaves 315 miles through some of New York State's most stunning natural landscapes, through the lush fall colors of the Adirondack Mountains and ending at the iconic Statue of Liberty. Float past abandoned mining and logging towns as well as War of Independence battlefields before the river picks up speed through a dramatic cliff lined gorge with powerful rapids. The river becomes more developed moving south, with stops at a picturesque lighthouse, FDR's estate at Hyde Park, and the famed West Point military academy. The last leg is aboard a restored 1920s commuter yacht drifting past soaring cliffs and ducking under the majestic George Washington Bridge to pass the iconic skyscrapers of New York City and end at the Statue of Liberty.

    Take a breathtaking journey on Scotland's River Spey, from its source in the Highlands winding through the spectacular mountains, to where the river meets the North Sea. Brilliant autumnal colors are on display on this pristine river, famous for world class whisky production and salmon fishing. In the Cairngorms mountain range, river biologists count the baby salmon population, while in Loch Insh swimmers brave the chilly morning waters. History surrounds the Spey, from the ancient Rothiemurchus Forest where huge Scots Pines were logged and transported downriver using 4000-year-old boats, to the invention of the famous Spey fly fishing cast and one of the oldest Aberdeen Angus cattle herds in the world. Finally, after a dram of the renowned local whisky, the boat arrives at Spey Bay to tour the biggest surviving icehouse in the U.K.

    A once vital highway, travel France's Dordogne River via traditional boats through the green heart of South West France. Fairy tale castles, which hides a once turbulent past, now form a tranquil playground that can be seen from a hot air balloon high in the sky. Along the banks you can hunt for truffles, as well as taste of the wine produced nearby. Finally, hop on a luxury cruiser to see a lighthouse built for a king.

    From its headwaters in West Virginia right to its estuary in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay, the Potomac River became a front line during the Civil War, ripping the nation in two. On the banks of the river at Harpers Ferry, a key federal armory was raided by abolitionist John Brown in 1859. Passing through Washington D.C. and the national monuments along the Tidal Basin, the journey ends at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate in Virginia to learn about the future president's survey of the upper river during his teenage years.
  • Guadalquivir, Spain

    Journey down the mighty Guadalquivir, Spain's only major navigable river, from the ice cold waters of the high Sierras de Cazorlas down to the great plains of Andalusia. Passing through the great Muslim city's of Cordoba and Seville the boat follows in the footsteps of explorers such as Columbus and Magellan, who opened up the modern world.
