Film-Maker

South Florida PBS is pleased to launch film·maker, a film series for emerging filmmakers from which we acquired, broadcasted, and distributed their work, in addition to providing mentorship. With the support of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the film maker initiative served 40 artists and reached an audience of over 2. 4 million in the South Florida region. Participants ranged in ages from 22 to 78 and represented cultures from around the globe. The 40 projects featured in film-maker include documentaries, narrative works, music videos, and more. These films will make you cry and laugh; they will entertain and inspire you.

"Woodlandish Ghoul" A young female hitch hiker is picked up late at night. Will this seemingly nice guy try to take advantage of her, or will the tables be turned on him as she hunts for her next meal. "La Rose Noire" A suave hitman finds his next mark to be more than he bargained for. "Camaleon" With a nod to the spaghetti western this ultra-short film conveys mystery and horror with just one thought, "It is only to change the sunset, for the sunrise..."
