ASR Code upgrade: 2019-09-12 @ 11:00 PM Description: Upgrading code on an ASR 9001 at the SUU pop site. This is the B device. Sites single homed to this device will go down for the outage.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Device will need to reload, 3 times. Connections to the router will be down during those reboots.
Syringa-Idaho: 2019-09-13 @ 1:00 AM Description: Groom circuits to new DWDM route
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Sites in this area will go down. These are primarily UTN site, with the possibility of Northern Utah.
10 GB circuit USU - DDC Down: 2019-09-16 @ 3:30 AM Description: 10 GB circuit in bundle is down between USU and DDC. CenturyLink is dispatching to repair. No sites are down, but speed may be impacted.
Update: This outage was resolved on time. Impact: Should be minimal. Traffic between USU and DDC and sites serviced through USU may be slower than usual.
No ETR, but hopefully before 9:00 AM
Planned Power Outage: 2019-09-17 @ 6:00 AM Description: There is a planned power outage
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Sites: Wendover High, Ibapah Elementary, Anna Smith Elementary

Century Link Outage: 2019-09-17 @ 1:40 PM Description: There is currently a large outage on the Century Link network stemming from Nephi affecting multiple UEN backbone links.
Update: Century Link field tech on site and starting to address the issue no etr at this time.
Update: Century Link has found a failed amp card and is currently trying to locate a replacement.
Update: This outage was resolved at 6:38 PM. Impact: Multiple backbone links as well as Juab School district.
ASR Code upgrade: 2019-09-17 @ 11:00 PM Description: Upgrading code on an ASR at the UVU POP site. UVU-PE-A.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed at 12:05 AM. Impact: Device should only need two reloads to complete upgrade. Sites that terminate on this device will go down while the device reloads.

Utah State University Eastern Device Upgrade: 2019-09-19 @ 11:00 PM Description: Upgrading the USU Eastern 6880 to an ASR9001.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Connections will need to be moved from the old device to the new device.
I will bring up backbone circuits to UVU and Moab first, then USUE campus, Emery/Carbon Districts and then all other connections.

Utopia West Valley: 2019-09-20 @ 12:00 AM Description: UTOPIA will be replacing a card in core equipment RCS-WV011-R located in West Valley City, UT 84119.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: All West Valley customers may experience slight packets loss while the links are upgraded to higher capacity. No direct customer outage is expected.
Emery Telcom Fiber Repair: 2019-09-22 @ 11:30 PM Description: Emery Telcom will be performing fiber splicing between Helper, UT and Lindon, UT to replace a section of fiber which was damaged tonight by gun fire. Crews have identified the damaged section and determined there are not enough intact fibers remaining to move all services to working fibers. Work will begin after 11:30pm and take up to five hours to complete.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: The work directly impacts the link between Moab and Price but will secondarily impact the Blanding to Moab portion based on the UEN network architecture. The Blanding to Roosevelt 10Gbps link will not be impacted and thus the Moab and Blanding traffic should traverse that route while the Moab to Price link is down.
Syringa-Alta: 2019-09-24 @ 1:00 AM Description: Description: Syringa Networks will be splicing in an existing enclosure with live fibers in the Alta Area.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: During this period, you will experience a brief disruption in your service.
Centracom Outage: 2019-09-24 @ 12:00 AM Description: There is currently a large outage for all clients serviced by Centracom in the Orem area. Centracom is aware of the outage, and working to restore service as soon as possible.
Update: A power transformer blew in American Fork, which took out the power to one of the primary nodes for Centracom. They are trying to devise a plan to get power back to the equipment. On site generator is on the outside of the transformer, so it is unable to provide power.
Update: This outage was resolved at 3:25 AM. Impact: Sites impacted by this outage are without internet service. Some redundancies are impacted. The sites we know are down currently are:

CenturyLink UVU Outage: 2019-09-24 @ 12:00 AM Description: Some Fiber circuits lost connection due to a bad card. A new card was located. CenturyLink is on site repairing the issue.
Update: CenturyLink advised circuits were back up, but we are not able to connect to them. Our field team in on the way to do onsite testing.
Update: This outage was resolved at 6:42 AM. Impact: Sites impacted that are single homed to UVU will be down until the issue is resolved. One of the primary paths between RDC and UVU is Down, and due to the CentraCom outage happening as well, there is significant traffic congestion at Dixie State, SUU, and Snow College, which may result in service delays. More info will be posted as it becomes available.
UEN Datacenter services firewall upgrades: 2019-09-26 @ 10:00 PM Description: UETN will be performing software upgrades on datacenter firewalls and testing redundancy and failover.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed at 10:43 PM. Impact: All datacenter services including web hosting, streaming, scheduling, mail, etc, may see momentary interruptions during redundancy testing, but upgrades of the HA pairs should have no to minimal impact. Upgrades and testing will occur throughout the maintenance window, and some services may be impacted multiple times.
Caching Switch upgrade: 2019-09-26 @ 11:00 PM Description: Upgrading code on our caching server.
This is our redundant switch for our Google, Akamai and Netflix caching servers.

Update: This maintenance completed at 12:00 AM. Impact: No impact expected.
Utopia-Layton: 2019-09-26 @ 1:00 AM Description: UTOPIA will be upgrading and testing power in huts located in Layton UT 84040
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: Most Utopia customers will lose connection while equipment reboots.
ASR Code Upgrade: 2019-09-26 @ 11:00 PM Description: Upgrading code on our Century Link IBR. Device will need to reload two times to complete upgrade.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed at 12:00 AM. Impact: Internet traffic leaving that IBR will reroute through another IBR on the network during reload.
