San Juan School District Radio Maintenance: 2016-10-04 @ 11:00 PM Description: UEN Field Ops will be upgrading firmware on each device in the radio path

Backbone Upgrades: 2016-10-04 @ 11:00 PM Description: Networking staff will be upgrading hardware on the backbone link between the down town data center and the UVU campus POP to better load balance traffic over the link.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.
Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: There may be a slight disruption as traffic re-converges as the link goes down and again when the link is brought back up, however the impact isn't expected to be noticed by most users.
Database server patch/upgrade: 2016-10-09 @ 8:00 AM Description: Patching pgpool/PostgreSQL production servers. Upgrading pgpool on production servers

Network outage in Richfield area: 2016-10-09 @ 12:20 AM Description: Several circuits including a UEN backbone link and connectivity to the Sevier school district went down around 12:20 this morning. The issue appears to be related to a Telco problem and their field techs have been dispatched. The ETA will be in approximately 3 hours however the length of the outage is still unknown at this time.
Update: This outage was resolved at 12:20 PM. Impact: Connectivity to/from the Sevier school district is down as well as several MPLS Layer2 VPN circuits. Lastly there may be degraded services to the any sites directly connected to the UEN Richfield POP though there are redundant circuits up and ooperational which should minimize noticeable outages
Moving Equipment: 2016-10-11 @ 11:00 PM Description: Moving our ASR's in the SCC POP down a couple RU's to accommodate for a new Century Link Fiber Distribution Panel.

Utopia Fiber Maintenance: 2016-10-13 @ 12:05 AM Description: Utopia needs to move a fiber connection.

Dixie POP Changes: 2016-10-20 @ 11:00 PM Description: ***Rescheduled Maintenance from Last Week***
Networking staff will be consolidating the backbone equipment
housed at the Dixie Point of Presence (POP) location to improve
functionality while eliminating expiring hardware.
Update: This maintenance will begin in 5 minutes.

with this outage including the Washington school district, Dixie State
college, and all other locations that connect in at this location
UTOPIA/UEN UVU 10Gig: 2016-10-25 @ 11:00 PM Description: UEN will be working with UTOPIA to move connected entities from a 1 Gig aggregation port to a 10 Gig aggregation port.

Level 3 Backbone Maintenance: 2016-10-27 @ 11:00 PM Description: UEN network and security staff will be making changes to the Level 3 POP to implement additional security measures to mitigate Denial of Service and other malicious attacks that originate from the Internet.

Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: There should be little to no noticeable disruption to users. The Cogent Internet link will go down briefly however most traffic will have been bled off of the link prior to the move and should be mostly transparent to end users.
UEN - upgrade storage array firmware: 2016-10-27 @ 8:00 PM Description: We need to upgrade the firmware on our storage arrays in order to fix an urgent issue. We do not expect any down time because we have redundant controllers. I am sending this message for informational purposes only because we did not have time to schedule 48 hrs in advance.

Century Link Parowan CO Maintenance: 2016-10-31 @ 5:00 AM Description: Century Link will be replacing a failing card at their CO in Parowan.

Update: This maintenance completed on time. Impact: This will affect all of Beaver School District, George Washington Charter School in St George, Parowan HS in the Iron County SD, and the backbone link between RDC and SUU.

Urgent: A planned outage, 12 hours in advance
Emergency: Immediate outage required
Third Party Maintenance: A planned outage performed by an organization other than UEN
