Writing (5.W)

Students will learn to write for a variety of tasks, purposes, and audiences using appropriate grammar/conventions, syntax, and style.

Standard 5.W.1:

Write argumentative pieces on topics and/or texts, supporting a point of view with evidence and information, using linking words, phrases, and clauses to connect the claim to the evidence, and provide a concluding section related to the claim presented.

• Informative Writing
  This is a lesson plan for 3-6 students who are learning to write an informative paper. This lesson plan is designed for a 5 paragraph short research paper. It is intended to match the Writing Standard 2: Write informative/explanatory texts to exaamine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly. Included: lesson plan, jamboard, digital notebook, links to safe research sites.  Image Citation: Writing. • Loaded Words: Vocabulary That Packs a Punch in Persuasive Writing
  In this minilesson, students practice identifying and purposefully using vocabulary in persuasive writing that is intended to have an emotional impact on the reader.
