Writing (4.W)

Students will learn to write for a variety of tasks, purposes, and audiences using appropriate grammar/conventions, syntax, and style.

Standard 4.W.4:

Conduct short research projects to build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic.

• All About Our Town: Using Brochures to Teach Informational Writing
  Students explore their towns' landmarks, symbols, and people; look at brochures and other informational tools; practice writing for a specific audience and revising; and work collaboratively to create a brochure.
• Short Writing Research Project
  This is a short research project lesson plan. It is a universal designed lesson for fourth grade students.  This lesson supports peer collaboration and creativity, along with meeting educational standards in both language arts and social studies.
