This research report, written by Washington State, was created as a resource for mainstream teachers regarding what current research suggests are the most appropriate methods for meeting the educational needs of American Indian and Alaskan Native children in the public schools, as well as to provide pertinent background information on the historical and sociopolitical relationships between American Indian tribes and the U.S. government.

An amazing resource of curriculum material centered around Indian Education you can order, books in both English and Navajo, calendars, cultural videos, educational programs and kit, and more. A great addition to your classroom while implementing this project would be the Trotting Coyote poster. It is available through the San Juan School District Media Center.

Standing Tall Program
The Standing Tall program was developed by Howard T. Rainer and invites students to become connected to their own sense of who they are. It also includes the opportunity to have a positive experience with information and insights that are relevant and meaningful. Students who participate in the program are encouraged to stand tall with self confidence and be seen and heard in the future.

Utah Education Network
The Utah Education Network web site provides education tools, activities, lesson plans, curriculum guides and professional development for teachers and educators in the state of Utah. You can also find other UEN resources like UEN-TV channel 9, EDNET, and distance learning resources.
